Wednesday Morning Weather Update Greg Morgan – Chief Meteorologist
Expect partly cloudy skies and a good chance of thunderstorms today across much of the area. Moisture content in the atmosphere is quite elevated. As a result, thunderstorms that develop today will be very efficient rain producers. Expect flash flooding in some locations today. High temperatures will still be very warm. Look for highs in the mid to upper 90’s across the Permian Basin, lower 90’s in the mountains and highs a little closer to 100 in the Trans Pecos and Presidio Valley.
Thursday will be almost a carbon copy of today. If anything, the chance of rain will be a little higher on Thursday afternoon.
By Friday, the weather pattern will begin to shift a little. Expect a chance of thunderstorms west of the Pecos River. The area will begin to clear from east to west as high pressure over the Plains States expands across the region.
Saturday through Tuesday will be dominated by high pressure. Highs will reach into the upper 90’s and 100’s. Skies will be sunny to mostly sunny. Rain chances will decrease to below 5% over the weekend.
