4 People In The Hospital After Drive-by Shooting In Big Spring 06/30/12

Big Spring, Texas – 4 people are in the hospital after a drive by shooting at a birthday party in Big Spring late last night. According to the Big Spring Police Department, officers responded to a shots fired call at 1415 East 6th Street in Big Spring just before 11pm. Upon arrival officers found four gunshot victims, witnesses tell police as many as 12 shots were fired toward a group of people by a shooter in a white Chevy Suburban. The victims have been identified as 47-year-old Daryl Washington of Lubbock, 41-year-old Mark Johnson also of Lubbock, 24-year-old Samantha Dawson of Midland and a 16-year-old female. The three adults were transported to a hospital in Lubbock where their conditions are unknown and the 16-year-old female was transported to Scenic Mountain Medical Center.
Just over an hour later, a Sheriff’s Office Unit pulled over a vehicle that matched the description. Police tell us based on witness accounts and evidence, the driver, 20-year-old Holston Banks III of Big Spring was arrested and charged with 4 counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Banks remains in the Howard County Detention Center pending arraignment.
